Betrayal! Betrayal on all sides! It seems each member of this book club decided (independently and immediately upon finishing the book) that waiting for the meeting to watch the movie was a dumb stipulation. It was argued that being able to talk freely over the movie without fear of missing any of it makes more sense and would make for a livelier meeting. While these are good points, they were made after-the-fact and the betrayal still stands!!

But really, the meeting was a success. We greatly missed TR who committed the real betrayal by choosing her mother over us. Tami hosted again and made us some delicious fish tacos with some pretty spectacular pico de gallo. (I had to look up how to spell it and did you know it translates literally to 'beak of rooster'?) We enjoyed our movie on the lowest possible volume and without subtitles. The dogs enjoyed sneaking massive helpings of spicy dips off unguarded plates. It was a great time for all.

Bethany, I apologize for this sorry excuse of a photo of you. I could have checked it there, realized my mistake and retaken it. But no. And now everyone needs to see what assuming gets you.
